Learning new technology or new routines may take longer with age, especially when the task is unfamiliar.
It may deserve closer observation if even repeated practice does not help, or if the same explanation is needed again and again with little carryover.
Helpful things to notice
- Is this about new technology only, or many kinds of new information?
- Do they retain the information the next day?
- Does repetition help?
- Has their ability to learn similar tasks changed from the past?
- Does this now affect independence?
